We arrive in the South today. It is hot. It smells, looks and tastes different. Our new tour guide is a devout Hindu, very knowledgeable about India and eager to tell us all about its history, culture and religion. Our new bus is a bit cramped. I’m hungry. Everyone is tired.
We arrive in Pondicherry and after switching rooms several times to find one that doesn’t smell like smoke we order room service. I get the pizza. It’s disappointing. It’s too late to venture out.
